IGS Consult
Operation & Growth

Growth delivered through efficiency and experience.

IGS Consult is a consultancy. We advise external investors and companies entering the Bulgarian market, and we build the business infrastructure that entry requires.

The practice, in three parts
01

Market Entry Advisory

How an operation in Bulgaria is structured, and what it takes to run once it is made.
02

Business infrastructure

Legal, market research and human resources — everything expansion needs to exist.
03

Sectors and mandates

Six sectors of completed work, and the software products the group operates.
Bulgaria as a business location

An EU market that still repays the arithmetic.

Companies from the DACH region and the United States come here for the economics and stay for the standard of work. Full EU membership removes the regulatory friction of a non-union location, while costs and taxation remain materially below western European levels — and the engineering is not a compromise made to reach them.

European Union
Full membership, with the regulatory framework and market access that carries.
Engineering depth
Decades of technical education behind one of the larger developer populations in the region.
Cost and taxation
A competitive cost base and a flat corporate tax rate among the lowest in Europe.
Nearshore
The same working day as central Europe, and a short flight from Munich, Vienna or Zurich.
Questions

What companies ask before they start.

What does IGS Consult actually do?

We advise companies from outside Bulgaria that intend to operate here. That covers the assessment before the decision, the structure the move takes, and the legal, research and hiring work the operation needs once it exists.

Do you place staff or build software yourselves?

No. We advise on how technical work is placed, staffed and governed, and we bring in the providers who carry it out. We are not a delivery house and do not present ourselves as one.

How does a mandate usually begin?

With an assessment. Market conditions, entry structure, delivery model and standing operation are settled in that order, so each decision is made with the previous one already closed rather than alongside it.

Which sectors do you know well?

Retail, banking, insurance, healthcare, transportation and logistics, and defence. The regulated sectors are where structure matters most, and where most of our work has been.

We are a software company, not a corporate group. Is that relevant to you?

Yes. Several of the companies we advise are software businesses establishing a local footprint, and the group operates its own software products, so the questions are familiar from both sides.

Do you work in German?

We work in English, German, French and Bulgarian. Most of our clients come from the DACH region and the United States.
